Our Fishing Guide
Jason out on the water
Fishing in North Carolina

Jason Spence is a North Carolina native, an accomplished sportsman and the licensed guide for Two Fisted Fishing Adventures. He has been fishing the Catawba River system and the Catawba chain lakes for four decades. During this time, he has developed the skills necessary to fish for a variety of game fishes in all seasons and conditions. Notably the ability to catch, keep and present live bait to a wide array of species in a number of fishing techniques that are consistently effective. On the artificial bait side of the coin, Jason is an avid jig tier, creating custom crappie jigs, bucktails and hair jigs. There are times in the year that artificial is just a better choice to offer and catches great limits of fish. Jason has the expertise to instruct on the use of artificial lures and their presentation. We charter from a 24 foot Skeeter Bay boat that offers a spacious, safe, and stable fishing platform. The ZX24 Skeeter is an optimum boat for all our fishing techniques. It is equipped with cutting edge Garmin and Hummingbird electronics, comfortable seating and custom features that make a great day on the water. Jason is CPR/First Aid certified and is trained in swift water rescue. Drawing on the knowledge that only experience can teach, he knows the hot spots to search for your next big fishing adventure. Our goal is to provide the customer an opportunity to have a quality outdoor experience in a friendly atmosphere that is truly a rip-roaring Two Fisted Adventure.

The name Two Fisted Adventures was coined while on outdoor excursions during Jason’s childhood. Blessed with being raised in a family that appreciated and enjoyed the outdoor lifestyle, Jason was provided opportunities to hunt and fish from Murphy to Manteo. While on these trips with his father and his group of colorful companions, it was customary to be asked the question, "You ready for a rip-roaring two fisted adventure". Jason will assure you, the answer was ALWAYS yes, and man, what adventures were had.

As an adult, this feeling of excitement has never left Jason, thus having continued the outdoor experience and honed his skills as a total outdoorsman. After a 30 year career as a Trooper on the North Carolina Highway Patrol, Jason retired in 2017. It was time to write the next volume of life and fulfill his dream of fishing everyday. So in 2018, Jason and his wife Jean decided to start a fishing charter business. Operating our successful businesses is a true team effort. From its inception, there was never a hint of hesitation as to what to name it. Two Fisted Fishing Adventures. The name embodies all we could ever hope to provide to our clients and friends. If we can share with them the feelings of excitement, fun and sense of accomplishments those rip-roaring outdoor adventures were to us growing up, then we have met our goals as fishing guides.

Sharing the outdoors together has always been a large part of Jason and Jean’s marriage. We have always been a great team and made wonderful memories hunting and fishing together. Life is much more rewarding if you are part of something greater than yourself. Operating a charter fishing business has been no different. When we decided to launch Two Fisted Fishing Adventures it was a team effort. And it still is to this day. There is so much behind-the-scenes logistics and preparations that are required to make it all look easy, so doing it alone is not an option. When you show up to go fishing and it all falls into place, know that there has been a collective effort that has made it all happen.
